Once upon a time ...

The Civitans shutout the Lions 8-0 to win the Bernie O'Rourke League title. Tony Gaskins had three hits including a home run. Mark Ouellette had two hits, Coleman was the winning pitcher.

In a semifinal game the Friars defeated the Civitans 9-1. Pagano pitched a three hitter for the win. Pagano and Brown each had two hits for the Friars. Tony Gaskins had two of the Civitans hits.

The Friars defeated VFW in the championship game 6-5 in a seven inning game. The Friars became the first Little League City Champion from the Spencer League. Panchula singled in Brown with winning run. VFW was led by three hits from Daniels and two each from John Gecewicz, Jerry Winzer, and Ricky Romano.

District Nine Tournament
In order to reduce the 17 team field in the 1975 District Nine Tournament to 16 a playdown game was held between the Bernie O'Rourke All Stars and the Spencer All Stars at Snow School.

Scott Coleman pitched a seven hitter as Bernie O'Rourke prevailed 10-3. Tony Gaskins, Dave Manemeit, Craig Drenzek, and Scott Coleman each had two hits for the winners. Tony Corral had three hits. Gaskins homered for O'Rourke and Brian Gibbons homered for the Spencer Stars.

Cromwell edged Pat Kidney 6-5 at Hubbard Park. Chariie Galland and Dave Darling each had two hits for Pat Kidney. Galland was the Pat Kidney pitcher.

Middlefield held a 2-1 lead after four innings at Peckham Field over Westfield. Then Middlefield scored six runs in each of their last two at bats to win 14-1. Fortuna, Skene, and Rixon pitched for Westfield.

The Durham All Stars scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to get by the Moose All Stars 5-4 in a game played in Durham. Moose was limited to three hits. They were by Biaggio Vlnci, Ricky Romano, and Jerry Winzer. Vinci had nine strlke outs and walked two.

The O'Rourke All Stars defeated Clinton 10-0 to become the only Middletown left at the first round. The game was played in Clinton.

Don Quick hurled a one hitter to lead Durham to a 10-0 win over Bernie O'Rourke All Stars. Tony Gaskins singled in the third to spoil Quick's no hit bid. Scott Coleman pitched five innings giving up five hits, striking out two and waiking seven. Tony Corral pitched the sixth giving up one hit, two walks and fanning one.

CDE defeated Durham 9-3 to capture the 1975 District Nine flag. Jim Castelli was the winning pitcher scattering nine hits. He walked four and struck out six. Don Quick was the Durham hurler. Quick gave up six hits, fanned seven but walked eleven. CDE was led offensively by Jim Castelli and Kevin Miezejeski each with two hits. Miezejeski had four RBIs. Durham had three hits from Scott Crawford. Bob Slater and Willie Hyland each had two hits for Durham. Hyland's two hits were doubles.

CDE opened their state play in Essex with a 3-2 win over the Norwich National All Stars. Kevin Miezejeski was the winning pitcher tossing a three hitter. He walked two and struck out 10. Olson had a home run for CDE.

CDE was eliminated by Waterford South 6-1 in a game played in Waterford. Waterford's O'Keefe threw a one hitter-a hit by Jim Castelli.
