Advocacy /MSA The Middletown Schools Association is an advocacy group representing all the schools in Middletown. Need a parent to attend MSA meetings and act as a liaison for the PTA. Artwork A parent to work with the art teacher to purchase a piece of art from a senior student and have it mounted and framed in honor of a retiring teacher(s). Banner MHS banner that can be used by a sports team or organization for any event or function to represent the spirit of our school. Brag Board You will help other parents put together and maintain a visually attractive and informative Bulletin Board showing PTA and school related events, news, honor roll postings or photographs of students pertaining to current stories. Community Service The purpose of this committee is to expand volunteer community service projects. Examples are Christmas in April, Relay for Life, etc. An opportunity for students, parents and school staff to work together to help others in need. Freshmen Orientation We need a few parents to help welcome our incoming students by serving a brunch or lunch during orientation that is held in August. New ideas are always welcome. Principal's Committee Looking for one or two parents who will meet once a month with teachers and administrators to discuss issues regarding the building. Hospitality This committee recognizes the MHS staff with various hospitality events throughout the year. Membership A chairperson is already in place. Use your creativeness to increase our membership of parents of current students, Vo-Ag students, parents of alumni and school staff. MHS Website Contact Jane Tonn for any new or upcoming event for MHS (704-7480). Mini-Grants The purpose of this committee is to disburse a small amount of money for worthy student activities. Newsletter Someone who would be willing to write any necessary articles regarding the PTA to be included in the Principal's Newsletter. Phone Tree a volunteer to be in charge of starting a chain of parents to call regarding upcoming meetings. PTA/Vo-Ag Plant Sale Our only annual fundraiser that is held the Saturday before Mother's Day. Need help with cashiering during the day. (You do not need to know your plants!) It truly is a fun time. Project Graduation A volunteer to act as a liaison for the PTA. Project Graduation is a special, all night gathering of seniors on graduation night. This is truly a memorable event for the graduating students. Special Programs A chairperson is already in place. This committee may bring one or two special guests to our meetings throughout the year for an informative and enjoyable evening … or sign MHS up for special awards through different programs; i.e. SNET and K-Mart, which we are participants.
