Middletown Sting made friends with the 18U Russian team during the opening ceremonies of the 2008 PONY Nationals in Ohio. Middletown Sting were among the honored guests at the July 24th Middlesex Chamber of Commerce breakfast. Also honored that day were former UConn basketball stars Kevin Ollie and Ray Allen. Hint: they're the tall ones in back! P.S. The one that got away was the Eliminators Best of Best was which won by one of the host teams - CT Eliminators Red, who later won the 2008 16U PONY Nationals. Go figure.       Kudos to Taylo and Mal !!! We'd like to congratulate Mallorie Dorflinger for being named all-Northwest Conference in softball and Taylor Bartolotta for being named all-Northwest Conference in track and field. We would also like to congratulate Ashley Stokes & Mallorie Dorflinger for being named to the Middletown Press All Area Softball team. Of Note: Ashley hit HRs in 4 consectutive games this year. Congratulations to Taylor Bartolotta who broke the MHS javelin record with a throw of 127 feet 3 inches !!! We would like to recognize our returning player Ashley Stokes who plays 1B for making the list for 2007 Nationals Home Run Hitters group! Ashley smacked a home run against the Diamond Girls from Buffalo, New York. Great Job Ashley! We look forward to some more dingers in the future!
